Shaved ice

I returned my hometown on last weekend. My family had a barbecue in my house's yard with many friends on last Sunday. It's sunny and very hot day. So, I drunk a lot and ate four cups of shaved ice. I ate shaved ice in four different flavors. First, I ate it with honey. I found this flavor is very delicious with my friends a few days ago. Second, with powder of tea and condensed milk. It's delicious, but was a little bitter. Because I put powder of tea too much. If you try this flavor, I reccomend to put a smaller quaitity of tea powder and a larger quantity of condensed milk. Next, I ate shaved ice with an undeluted solution of Calpis. It's excellent for me without making complains. Finally, with shochu. If you are permitted and like drinkining, you should try it. It's great to be eaten on a hot day.

Let's try these flavors.

My best friend

Sayumi is a third-year student of a university in Tokyo. So, she lives alone in Ikebukuro now. We have known each other for five years. Though it is three years since we graduated from a high school, we meet about once every three months. Last time we met was in May in Tokyo. Then I visited Sayumi's house.

Last Saturday, I spoke with Sayumi by phone for two hours. Then it was decided that we will meet on August in our hometown, Shizuoka. There are not many department stores in Shizuoka. Therefore, we always talk in a teahouse. Everytime we just talk for hours. But we enjoy talking and I feel very comfortable with her. I am looking forward meeting her in August.

★Hotel

When looking for a hotel, I prefer Good Value, Clean Rooms, and Spacious Rooms & Beds.

Also, I like a hotel which is Quite, friendly and comfortable.

A good hotel; White House Hotel Istanbul

・Great location, excellent customer service

・Front desk and breakfast staff are friendly

・New and very clean

A bad hotel; Golden Hill Istanbul

・The room was small and somewhat dirty

・Poor food quality & service

・A old uncomfortable sofa bed

9/6-9/13
Sirkeci Konak Hotel: $190 per night
It is in a quite and very safe locality. The staff is polite and friendly. The hotel has the wonderful restaurant and food on the roof of the hotel. Travelers highly recommend this hotel as central and walking distance to all the sights.

★Sightseeing destinations
Arkeoloji Muzesi; The reason I want to visit here is a historical museum. The museum was created in the 1890s. It remains one of the world's largest museums with over one million works. There is also an extensive collection of classical sculpture and a model Trojan horse for the kids. I want to see it!
Blue Mosque(Sultan Ahmet Camii); I think blue mosque is one of the famous things in Turkey, so I will surely visit this place sometimes at least one time. According to travelers, on the outside the architecture is amazing and this is phenomenally beautiful and impressive.
Selin; I am interested in the local cuisine in Turkey. Then many travelers recommend Seilin as the place we enjoy the local cuisine. Seilin has many shops and restaurants. I want to taste, buy spice mixes and eat lunch at Selin.

★Travel tips & advice
According to traveler, I should not rent a car to reach Cappadocia from Istanbul. Because it is expensive to rent a car, and gasoline in Turkey is the most expensive in the world. Also, if I visit to Istanbul as a single, I should avoid alleys and refuse to go palace with strangers. But basically Istanbul is very safe for a single woman.
I will go to Selin to buy many accessories and mixed spices. Because many travelers recommend us as the place we should visit to.
The best way to get to the airport is to use a taxi. According to wikitravel, “taxies are an easy and cheap way .” But, “drivers will refuse to start the meter and try to negotiate a fixed prize.”
Then I should ask "how much to go to...?" before getting in to avoid these taxies. If I ask, they tell the accurate price.

A movie about Greece

A country which I want to go is Turky, but there is no video about Turky. So, I found a movie about Greece which is the second country I want to go.

This Greek tavern is based on white color. I like this color because it's simple, cleanliness, and refreshing. Greece is faced on the Mediterranean area. Therefore the sun is lightning, the ocean is blue and the building is white. I think it's perfect! Though I haven't been to Greece, I will take a fancy for scenery and Mediterranean diets. This video is introduced a lamb chop, a cheeze pie, and fresh vegitable salad. The cuisine I will like the most is used seafoods. There is no doubt that the cuisine used seafoods which faced on the Mediterranean is fresh and delicious. If I go to Greece, I will eat the cuisine used seafoods surely.

The Tanabata festival

Last Suterday, I went to the Tanabata festival in Hiratsuka with my friends. There was a very crowd and were so many kinds of vendor's carts. I was interested in decorations of Tanabata. Its colors were light pink, green, blue and yellow. I thought it's like a big jelly fish.

I really wanted to go there with a yukata. But I have a yukata in my parental home, Shizuoka. So I didn't have enough time to bring it from Shizuoka to Yokohama.

Next, I will surely wear yukata on some festival with my friends. However, I can't wear a yukata by myself now. I want to wear a yukata by myself until next festival.
